A flexible and streamlined approach
Acuity’s goal is to offer streamlined, comprehensive services that keep costs down. Dr. Micklewright has spent years refining her methods to minimize client wait times, paperwork, and redundancy.
Without compromising on quality, some Acuity evaluations can be conducted in only 2-3 hours of your time, compared to the 6-8 hours that may be required at other clinics. Dr. Micklewright then spends additional time interpreting, writing up a report of the results, and educating you on how to move forward and implement next steps. Results are typically available in a written report in 1 - 2 weeks.
evaluation FORMATS:
Brief Telehealth (ADHD, memory loss) Evaluation: 45 minute interview, 30 minutes of face-to-face and computerized testing, 30 minutes of paperwork, optional 30 minute feedback session.
ESTIMATED TOTAL CLIENT TIME: ~ 2 – 2.5 hrs.
Full Neuropsychological Evaluation: 45 minute interview (virtual or in-person options), 15 minutes of paperwork, 2-2.5 hours of neuropsychological testing, optional 30-45 minute feedback. ESTIMATED TOTAL CLIENT TIME: ~4 – 4.5 hrs.
ADHD Evaluations: Clients wondering about ADHD or memory loss may only need a brief, telehealth evaluation, which involves an abbreviated testing session and report.
This less expensive option and a good place to start for many clients.
Sometimes over the course of the telehealth visit, it becomes clear that a lengthier, in-office evaluation is needed to clarify the diagnosis or provide documentation to your school/employer (e.g., for accommodations, etc.). This can be easily arranged and we will try to let you know as early as possible, if we think more in-depth testing is needed.
PAYMENT & FEES
Our innovative approach and flexible evaluation options help to reduce your time spent in testing and the associated costs of the evaluation. This is a priority for Acuity because we do not bill or accept payment from private health insurance*.
Instead, we focus on providing competitive rates, honest estimates, and clear documentation that you may submit to your private insurance (if you choose to request reimbursement of “out-of-network” benefits).
Payment Structure: Acuity values billing transparency in billing. We can provide a good faith estimate (GFE) for evaluation and treatment services before your appointment. A credit card must be on file at the time of scheduling.
Deposit: A non-refundable fee of $250 is charged at the time of scheduling to hold your appointment time.
Final Payment: The fees for clinical services rendered, less the $250 deposit, is due on the day of your evaluation.
Acceptable Forms of Payment: Cash, check, credit or debit card, HSA, FSA, HRA.
Note about Medicare:
*Acuity Brain Health is required to accept Medicare Part B, so please let your provider know prior to scheduling if you have Medicare, so that we can submit the charges directly for reimbursement. Patients will be responsible for applicable Medicare copayments; those with supplemental insurance may have partial coverage for out-0f-network benefits (client is responsible for submitting any out-of-network claim to private insurance, i.e., Medicare Advantage Plans).
