❋
On the Day of Your Appointment
Nerves are Normal
You are seeking answers or a change in your life. You aren’t alone in feeling nervous or uncertain about the process.
Most people are not thrilled by the idea of being "tested,” but clients often share that it “wasn’t as bad” as they had expected or that they actually enjoyed it.
Perhaps those nerves you are feeling before the evaluation is excitement or anticipation. Most people are motivated by the prospect of gaining clarity, insight, and a clear path forward.
Congratulations on taking the first step toward identifying the “missing pieces” of your puzzle.
Take your medications as directed. If you take an ADHD medication, let your provider (as it may be best to skip it on the morning of testing).
Bring completed paperwork and any previous psychological evaluations with you. If you need them, be sure to also bring your glasses and hearing aids.
Prepare for Your Appointment
Get a good night’s sleep, eat something, bring your favorite beverage, and remind yourself that you cannot fail neuropsychological testing.
